Bertil Ohlin, 1899-1979
Swedish economist, Bertil Ohlin was one of
the most outspoken members of the "Stockholm
School" of the 1930s. Ohlin taught at the Stockholm School of
Economics from 1929. He is best remembered for the "Heckscher-Ohlin"
model of international trade and for his duels with John Maynard
Keynes on reparations and macroeconomics.
Ohlin shared the Nobel Memorial prize
in 1977 with J.E. Meade.
